The Rise of The Machines

A quiet stillness fills the air, only broken by the occasional thrum of machinery in the distance.

The Aleph Taskforce led by Asura Amari acted in unison, each movement a calculated decision, they needed to arrive at the Zebu Research Facility without raising the alarm.

Infiltration missions were never Amari’s favourite, though she pondered if that was how she truly felt or if Aleph had programmed her Lhost to prefer more direct intervention.

She looked back at her team, each taking up position in the shadows; they were five minutes out.

She climbed over another pipe, quickly dashing behind a wall before a sensor drone passed by.

She had been ordered by the great Artificial Intelligence to sneak into the Zebu facility so that Aleph could duplicate and preserve a copy of the advancements they had made, in case of combined army offensives over running the facility.

3 minutes out.

One of the replacement Lamedh’s gave off an occasional metallic clang as it’s new parts brushed against the old; she wondered if there was time to address the issue but the thought evaporated as quickly as it formed when she heard human voices in the distance.

She raised a hand, patiently waiting for the patrol to move past them, catching sight of her second in command, Shukra Oran, aiming his boarding shotgun at the the O12 Kappas as they went by.

“Not without cause,” Amari transmitted to him and he gave a short nod by way of reply.

The team proceeded onward.

The Dakini paramedic used its omni-tool to cut through the fence allowing her team into the facility grounds, if they could just time it right they would be able to enter the facility undetected…
