Durgama Takeover

I was right. After my last win against the Morats, colonel Ikari promoted me. The prospect of more money and boose got a little sour when he told me the next mission, though … I just had to wait on my butt at the station. Little did I know then that things would have gotten much more interesting very soon.

Unhappy surprise – Turn 1, Haqqislam
After a few days, we got infiltrated by Haqqislam. We got two Fidays in our back when we realised what was happening. The bastards killed one of the HVT before we could react. Still, the crossfire of a Wu Ming HMG, Diggers, Brawler MSV2 sniper and a Karakuri physically blocking one of them was enough to make them both silent without having any other loss. The deployments plan worked this time. They pushed quite a lot still, and an Al Hawwa’ flanked us to score another console and kill another HVT. This time, they effectively surprised us, but all of these troops died after having activated the consoles and killed the HVTs.

Ikari’s fury – Turn 1, Ikari
As soon as we reorganised, they regretted the incursion. The smoke of the desperados helps us again. It covered the main fire lane letting the Karakuri push and activate two consoles. Then, we redeployed her, Yojimbo and the linkteam to cover all possible attack vectors. Doing that, we killed several of their troops. We didn’t go for the objectives yet. We were confident on our ARO coverage to protect us.

A desperate attempt – Turn 2, Haqqislam
Haqqislam tried to push again with an Asawira, but they had already sustained too many casualties to do something relevant. It ended up dying, which meant that the troops of Haqqislam were already looking at a retreat.

Swift execution – Turn 2, Ikari
With little left to counter us, Yojimbo pushed to one isolated HVT and killed him. Then, from the shadow, our ninja appeared. He quickly activated the last console to then execute one after the other the two remaining HVT. The fight was done.

These Haqqislam never learn a lesson. These old incursion strategies of the man of the mountain could work with traditional armies. They have to understand, though, that Ikari is different. Every troop of us is a knife just waiting to cut a throat. It might be less sharp than other armies, but it’s everywhere. It’s useless to kill just one of us when all of us can bring you nightmares.

PS: that was a fast but very fun game! After my opponent’s first turn, I was really worried, but then things got lucky on my way. I will never stop loving how each and single one of the Ikari troops can be deadly. Thanks for the game!!!
