Durgama Takeover

Of all the things I expected today, it was not to be dragged into Fusilier Angus’ mischief. It all started when my comlog interrupted our routine patrol, with new orders. “LT. Fusilier Beta randevu with Pantsy Garnet & Techbee recovery team Omega”. The hud light indicated S6775, W98774 only 30 clicks Southwest from our location in a small town in the jungle. Slowly the comlog scrolled more information, it must have been a rush job because it was raw data: Techbee report:
Damaged Tag reboot detected at 11:45.07 hours at location S6775, W98774. Structural damage 67%… mobilization 0.3%… AOS activation successful… awaiting recovery.

Then Angus’ avatar appeared and the most ridiculous message approved my command.
Angus said with a long drawn out so, “we have this knights Jetski and I am thinking we hitch it to the Tag and then” and he made immature engine noises. So he was saying we are going to pull this broken Cutter off to repair on a Jetski it finally dawned on me He continued, “Genius right?!” And then Patsy cuts in, “Angus this isn’t going to work”. Angus just sent a emoji upside down smiling emoji. I silenced the chat and had set my comlog to notify if anything from command changed so I could get my Helot team informed on the location and objective, keeping the details vague so I didn’t have to translate the shenanigans. My hud highlighted Patsy and her accompanying sniper fusilier, as we approached we linked up to share incoming data and their faces were grim as Patsy relayed that no progress was being made to convince command that this was a bad idea. So as we approached the randevu I was not surprised to see a Montessa Knight with a Jetski backing up to pull a cutter out of the mud as Angus and a Techbee cheered them on.

It probably wasn’t Angus’ yelling at the top of his lungs “hit the gas!” as the montessa knight pulled up that alerted the enemy but I’m sure it didn’t help. Because as soon as the cheers were their loudest a HMG opened up taking out the sniper fusilier, 2 of the 3 Helots and the montessa knight with blinding speed. Patsy reacted quickly though jumping out and rushing the foe. But where were the shots coming from?! I spotted a slight visual shimmer, a Hac Tao was on the roof and Patsy was trying her best to take it down. Meanwhile the damaged cutter was endangered by a beast hunter that jumped out of no where. Luckily a Helot was alerted by all the HMG bullets flying nearby and was able to take out the beast Hunter but not before the Tag could have been completely destroyed, thankfully the AOS was successfully able to repel the attack stunning the beast hunter as the helot’s shots hit home.

Patsy couldn’t stop the HMG’s advance and a Monk jumped her as she dove for cover, taking her down for the count. But the remaining Helot kept the Monk from getting to the Tag as the Monk recovered a DA weapon from the panoply. The Hac Tao then ended our Techbee support and the final Helot from range. It was finally time to send in our last hope to deal with the Hac Tao. Our Zula Cobra khd had been waiting for the right moment to strike and was able to put down the Hac Tao but in the process took a nanopulser for her trouble and went down. It was finally up to me and Angus, what could the 2 of us do?! Not much with the jetski damaged beyond repair. So I just needed to hold our position and hope for support. As a horde of Kuang Shi approached my position shooting madly at me with pistols. All I could do is curse Angus and his plan. A lucky hit, and I was down, as the world darkened from the pain my last hope is that Bipandra will come recover us all from this mess.
