Operation: DEATH TO THE STORM DEITY
View Linked Report - CLICK HERE 150 POINTSFor out last game of the week (and probably of the first phase?) we decided to slap each other with TAGs. At 150 points it turns things into a game of Rocket Tag - whoever gets hit first probably loses.
Shamash had an aggressive early start, opening a panoply with his Sophotect and then using the Marut to move up and start blasting my specialists. The Marut and the Maghariba Guard traded shots back and forth as the Marut moved up and torched my Ghulam Hacker. A strong start!
And then it went wrong.
My Maghariba Guard managed to fell the Marut with a blast of heavy flamethrowers. He got the Marut got back on its feet from the Sophotect's timely use of of a Gizmokit. *Then* the Marut died for good from another round of flamethrower blasts.
At that point it was a clean sweep - Shamash had nothing left aside from some sad, lonely Netrods, beeping their electronic chorus to a universe where nothing could hear them.
Our initial deployment. The Maghariba Guard is so comically huge I had to fit it sideways with its butt hanging out in the open (360 visor so it doesn't matter, but it's still very funny).
And trade a few more shots, at worse range. The Marut hosed the prone hacker on top of the building with napalm and shrugged off yet more explosive rounds from the Maghariba Guard.
Eventually I decided to try my luck with the Maghariba Guard's heavy flamethrowers, and managed to fell the horrible robot monster.
I moved the Maghariba Guard to the top of the building to keep an eye out for Shamash's Sophotect. The Sophotect stuck her head out, managed to Gizmokit the Marut, but died to the Maghariba Guard's explosive round ARO. I then blasted the Marut with yet more heavy flamethrowers on my turn, killing it for good - like really for real this time, it was gone, off the board, kaput, an ex-TAG, pining for the fjords.

After a fierce battle it takes a moment to stand atop the corpse of its adversary, roaring its victory to any other nearby TAGs that might seek to move in on its territory."

That’s some real close range TAG action.

I think what Maggie did to that Marut is illegal in several States.
Some awesome TAG on TAG action here. Pretty awesome setup using those boxed-set terrain pieces. Also, another +1 internet point for the Cat Tax.
