As the proximity alarms go off, Darpan Xeno-Station scientist ‘Eric’ calmly makes his way to the vault deep inside the facility. If his colleagues were paying attention to what he was doing, they would have thought him mad. But years of studying people’s faces and body language tells ‘Eric’ that they were too busy worrying about evacuating before the biotechvore plague consumed them all to be worried about one lone man in a lab coat going the wrong way.

‘Eric’ knows where is needed. His brothers and sisters from the Hassassin order are coming and he will be there to greet them.

But then comes a more concerning sound over the facility’s PA.

“Why have you come here, humans? This facility does not belong to you! Your order has no place trying to claim our secrets!”, a female voice cried.

‘Eric’ taps a communication device hidden in his ear, and hears the voice of the Hassassin lieutenant urging his brothers and sisters on.

“We must push on to the vault! The plague has been released. Inshallah, we shall bring the dark secrets of this facility into the light,” he urged.

The female voice over the PA speaks again.

“We know the lies your order tells! The supposed threat contained in this facility! You believe you are out to save humanity. Yet you ignore the alien menace that hangs above you, looking to consume all. You are fools and you will die here today!”

‘Eric’ sets himself near the vault entrance, awaiting further instructions. He knows he will be safe from the plague for a little while.

The Hassassins deploy behind whatever cover they can find, ready to assault the vault
Another view of deployment from the Hassassin side of the table

With the plague right behind them, the Hassassins spring into action. But it's clear the oncoming cloud has caused panic in some of soldiers. 'Eric' sees two Daylami drop their camouflage blankets trying to escape, but a third manages to hold onto his and get into cover behind a garden bed, awaiting the oncoming Aleph advance.

Seizing the initiative, a fireteam consisting of 3 Muyibs and an Asawira then move up to the vault, with supposedly no response from the enemy side. They calmly walk past him to set themselves into a defensive position, expecting a forthcoming assault from the AI enemy.

The confused Daylami also try to move into a better position, along with a Shaytaniyah Remote, but they are left out in the open when Aleph eventually respond, and are forced to dodge incoming fire.

A lone Barid also pops out from the safety of an antenna which is designed to hold back the plague, and attempts to run to the enemy's lines.

Meanwhile, a Lasiq rifleman and a Ghulam doctor set themselves up in cover, waiting for the signal to dash to the vault. There are but moments before the plague catches up to them, but 'Eric' knows the push to the vault is too risky for them right now.

The Hassassin fireteam, consisting of an Asawira and three Muyibs, take cover inside the vault

From his position, 'Eric' is unable to see the Aleph response, although the commands barked from the lieutenant are enough to tell him what is going on. Sniper fire rings out on both sides of the now battlefield, as the lieutenant calls out approaching forces coming in from the left flank. The Asawira responds in kind, but under the hail of fire, he is supposedly brought down. With the Asawira down, the Barid becomes the target of the focused fire, and although he is quick, he is unable to escape the sustained assault. 'Eric' also gets warning that his team's sniper, hidden from his view, has also gone down.

A panzerfaust rocket shoots out from the right side of the vault, and lands in a nearby building.
"Direct hit!" comes the call over the comms.
"Hang on! She's getting up! Target is getting up! Reload and prepare to return fire! Hold this position for as long as we can."
"What's that behind her? Is she healing her?"

The Lasiq Sniper scores a critical hit in ARO - but it is not enough to down the enemy - before he is then KIA

Word then comes that the Asawira has gotten to his feet, and the lieutenant orders the fireteam's doctor to patch him up as best she can. Although she manages to do just that, she comes under attack and goes down. The lieutenant then orders the Ghulam into the vault to rescue the team's doctor. She manages to get to the walls of the vault before Aleph advances once again.

A lone Ragik drops into the battlefield. But it seems like the biotechvore cloud has messed with her visor, as she drops well behind the cloud and, unable to escape it, is soon consumed by it.

There are cries from inside the vault as word somes through that the target of the Panzerfaust attack has made her way inside the vault. 'Eric' hears the fireteam try to engage with the target, before the sound of D-Charges detonating fills him with dread.

'Ahhhhh...damn humans! Way's clear, Parvarti! They're all dead! Now get in here and patch me up."

The Ghulam doctor presses herself on the side of the wall hoping to stay out of sight.

"The one still outside. Yes I know. I will deal with her in time! ...and be sure to send their reporter friend a gift as well. I will not suffer these fools’ intrusions."

Andromeda vs the Hassassins Round 1
Andromeda vs the Hassassins Round 2

A female-looking android and what appears to be her robot dog then emerge from the vault, staring at the Ghulam standing out in the open. She then runs at Ghulam, weapon in hand, and the Ghulam goes down in a swift blow.

'Eric' then watches as missile fire takes out one of the nearby antennas in the Hassassin's backline, and a lone Warcor is soon consumed by the biotechvore.

"We don't want their side controlling the narrative here. Do we?" the android remarks.

She turns to face 'Eric' and motions him inside the vault.

"You saw how they came for us, right? You'll let the rest of the scientists know how we defended them here today. Aleph has protected this facility well."

Andromeda then turns her attention to a lonely Ghulam doctor. The fight is brutal and one-sided.
