Durgama Takeover

It was always the quiet that bothered Captain Xiu the most. She had no problems with dealing with the chaos of a battle, but the quiet…was beyond unnerving.

“Ma’am?” A soft voice spoke up beyond her. Turning to look she took note of the Zhanshi, private…Yun she thinks. She hadn’t been in charge of their squad long, so she had not fully familiarized herself with them

“Yes? What can i help you with Private?”

“Um…L.T wants to know if these battle plans are alright?” The private holding out a data pad for the Shang Ji to look over.

“I already told your Lieutenant, they will be in charge of you and the troops, as well as some of the remotes. You need not worry about me or my direct forces”

The private nods, before saluting and running off back to their Lieutenant. Captain Xiu sighed. It was going to be a long day. They had arrived before the fighting began and grabbed the local banner troops, quickly spreading out and keeping in comms up, but it was strange, Pan O didn’t send any troops to try and repel them from the post, and they hadn’t seen any of the combined forces, which to Xiu meant bad things. very bad things.

It didn’t take long for those bad things to manifest. Everyone had spread out, covered their area, Xiu had their heavy machine gun ready to roll, their Jujak and the sergeant ready, her tinbot trailing near her legs ready for any enemy hackers attempt. A deep breath out in her armor, then comms picked up chatter. Enemy contact. They couldn’t get a bead on what *exactly* it was, but Xiu had spotted two Nox running up to position across the repair yard

“Shavasti! Everyone, heads down and keep your eyes and trackers peeled. No wonder we didn’t see any resistance yet! These sneaky walking seed pods must have gotten here and set up first!” Xiu calmly said over the comm network, her eyes staying on the nox, she wasn’t ready to lite them up yet, it seems they were more interested in the giant armory off to her right.

“Contact right! Moving fast! VERY fast!” A voice cracked over the comm network, the Ye Mao from what Xiu suspected. “Oh shit! angry alien badgers! L.T keep your squads eyes over here!”

Explosions sounded, and all hell broke loose.

(Round 1)
Shavasti went first, Taigha ran up my right flank, as a Drone snuck out from a building and behind the center armory, a caliban sucessfully breached the armory and looted a box, then a camo marker snuck all the way around the armory, and planter, and buildings, then around the building. It got a bead on my Ye mao, and HOLY HELL ITS A SPHINX. Was totally not expecting that.

The L.T looked in horror as the Ye Mao on the right flank was being encroached on by the angry space badger things. She remembered someone called them that once. But it was when the Sphinx popped out from the darkness and bathed the Ye Mao in the flamethrower that her heart dropped in earnest. She was about to call out in the comms for the Doctor to be ready for emergency medical services, until the flame rolled off and out and the Ye Mao stood defiant, not brought down.

Captain Xiu was worried when they received word that the Shavasti brought a big and nasty to play, she wasn’t expecting that, but that really sealed the fate of the PanO in the area. She brought her HMG to bear on the Nox in front of her. She would let their forces on the flank deal with the TAG she was going to clear the enemy infront of her. She REALLY wanted to know how the hell they got in here so quickly and quietly….then she spotted the likley reason. Some Merc smuggler running around with the nox….Swanson was it? Pointing the woman out to her Jujak they advanced up the flank, putting down the nox as the Jujak laid down a heavy flamer of their own torching a seedpod and putting Swanson down…before their comms cut out and the crackling of a hacking program making itself known.

Meanwhile, the Guilang, Lan, Moved up to the armory door, dropping a landmine near the entrance before punching in a code and opening the door, peeking around the corner with their combi raised they spotted some wierd shavasti critter messing with one of the armory boxes. Taking the opportunity they blasted them away, and then slipped into the armory itself, dropping a few mines down and looting both of the armory chests themselves…all while the growling angry sounds from the right flank grew louder.

End of my Turn 1, my haris of the two Jujak (one So-Ra Kwon) and the Shang Ji moved up the side, bringing down two nox, and the missle drone they had, and Ada swonson. However the Jujak took a wound and then was isolated. The Ye mao survived the heavy flamer on the right side of the table from the Sphinx, but had to duck out of line of sight. The Guilang took the armory and looted the chests, getting a multi Rifle and +2 armor! They then dropped two land mines and went camo again ending my turn. It was a solid turn one, putting down a total of five combined guys!

(Round 2!)
The shavasti had a great turn coming back. The Taiga moved up and popped four mines, and one LIVED to get close to my Ye Mao, it then charged and put her to unconscious, before trying for the Zhanshi link, and getting shot down. but then the sphinx popped up and made a right nightmare of itself, putting one of the link to unconscious, before disappearing back into the shadows. It Managed to Kill the Hundun that tried to rocket it, just completely outright before it did it so.

My Round two went SO much faster. Essentially, my doc brought back up my Zhanshi link, and i relinked them all, then she killed my Ye Mao trying to get her back up with the medikit from ranged…she missed one shot and the one i hit with the PH was a 17 so…ouch. My Jujak was put down by a mine, unconcious, not dead, but it broke my harris and i didnt want to spend my command point getting it back up. So my Shang Ji went about finishing off models and getting set up to defend angles on the armory, as the two Long ya set up to take more shots at the sphinx.

(Round 3)
Shavasti REALLY hit it up a notch they contested the Armory, well scratch that, they TOOK the armory. The Sphinx snuck around to the open door on the shavasti side of the board, and just opened up fire on my Guilang. he survived! Until he didn’t taking a wound and falling unconcious, then the sphinx pilot thing got out and stabbed him in the face, so three of my favorite individuals got straight killed in the game (Ye Mao, Guilang, and Hundun)

During my Turn, my Long ya moved up and submachine gun’d the pilot, and then Panzered the tag to clear the door, my Shangji then ran all the way down and into the armory! Securing my win! i scored my HVT as well Putting me at 8!

When the dust finally settled, when it was all over, Captain Xiu let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. she had to stomp over the wreckage of the sphinx to get into the armory, and it was a mess, the Guilang was gutted by the wall, and the pilot and other shavasti were tore apart from various gun fire. In a bid to make sure she didn’t end up like them she grabbed whatever she could from the armory cache’s before hunkering down. It was about twenty minutes later she got the all clear from the comms. The Lieutenant and the sergeant were clearing out whatever seed pods remained while securing the area. They had started to collect their fallen and treat those who could still be saved.

Xiu let out another breath. The losses were not…preferred but they were acceptable, especially to secure the site as they did. She swiftly sent a message to High command before moving to reload and set up for positions. She wasn’t about to let the deaths of those around her go in vain, she would *keep* this post in the hands of Yu-jing.
