Deployment

ALEPH won the roll off and chose to go first, catching the beleaguered Yu Jing troops unaware. In the opening moments, Adil ordered his men to counter deploy the enemy, securing forward positions with the Long Ya and letting the core of his team hunker down to survive the assault from the synthetic attackers.

ALEPH Turn 1

As if practiced hundreds of time in a simulation, the Dakini sniper opened the engagement precisely marking and firing on the Long Ya, downing the Yu Jing mech with a precise hit to the central power unit. However, a Yu Jing Warcor was able to catch the attack by ALEPH on camera and was able to stun the Dakini into Concelium Compliance while it was under record. Seeing it was her time to shine, the ARJUNA unit moved forward and was also able to reveal the Long Ya, but was not able to land any hits in the abrupt return panzerfaust fire. A few more moments of focus and the second Yu Jing Long Ya was brought down. Deciding to hold up for the turn, the ARJUNA entered suppressive fire, ending ALEPH Turn 1.

Yu Jing Turn 1

Shifting into action, smooth as water, a Shaolin monk contested the Dakini, throwing smoke in the face of the ALEPH sniper. The fortunes favor mortal man, and the Shaolin was able to get smoke down in the midfield, blocking the line of sniper fire. The Shaolin moved forward, looting the panoply to find.... an HMG. Utilizing cautious movement, the Yu Jing Beasthunter was able to sneak forward and lay a mine down in the midfield, making any ALEPH movements very unappealing, before slinking back into the shadows.

ALEPH Turn 2

Now facing a Shaolin with an HMG laying down far too many bullet,s the ALEPH team had to reevaluate their options. The ARJUNA successfully dodged the forward mine, freeing Andromeda up to move on her new objective. Rounding the corner, the ALEPH elite traded shotgun blows with the Shaolin and after several orders (and a wound) was able to down the madman. Knowing she needed to get close to the objective, and quick, Andromeda moved forward, avoiding the effects of the Yu Jing mine and the insistent reporter asking for a comment on the recent JSA violence. With the last moments of her turn, Andromeda planted a D-Charge and inflicted two wounds on the AC2.

Yu Jing Turn 2

Using his LT order, Crane Rank Adil moved up and opened fire with his breaker rifle on the ALEPH saboteur. Suffering a hit in return fire from her shotgun, Adil put the ALEPH agent down with prejudice. Freed to move forward, a Mech Engineer wennd springing from the obscuring terrain to land a deadly string of hits on the surprised ARJUNA unit. With time running out the team moved forward into the ALEPH deployment zone to dispatch the Proxy Mk.1. With the last order of the turn the Shaolin left the fire team to move up and down the Shukra LT before going down to the nanopulser of the ALEPH commander.

ALEPH Turn 3

Down a LT, two D-Charge carrying operatives, and an Engineer, things were looking very rough for the now fully robotic strike team. Opening Fire on the monk team, a Shaolin was downed with Liang Kai managing to go full Ninja and smoke his way out of his problems.

Yu Jing Turn 3

Knowing the moment was now or never, Liang Kai attempted another smoke grenade in the face of the Dakini team and scored the first critical of the game! With a smoke cover down Liang Kai and the Beasthunter were able to make quick work of the technical console.

Conclusion

I want to give a huge shout out to my college roommate Sarah who was able to get on and play some last minute games for me to have a chance to get another win or two in for Yu Jing. Infinity is tons of fun but man oh man can I not wait to not play L&S for a long time. Thanks for reading and Happy Gaming!
