“Chief,” Algucile corporal Perez began in an even tone. “What are we doing down here? The Combined Army is tearing us a new one up on the station. Besides, I thought these guys were supposed to-”
“We don’t get paid enough to worry about that &%^; some Dragnet spook said go poke the samples, we’re gonna go poke the samples.” Lisa, the squad sergeant, replied curtly. She wasn’t really feeling an extended discussion, so was almost hoping that the shooting started. Starting with Perez.
“Dragnet? $#@%, I hate those guys, they’re #$^&ing cops.” the first algucile commented idly while they marched.
“… Perez, you idiot we’re cops too, what do you think being an alguicle is?” the squad daktari, Asha, asked rhetorically with a raised eyebrow. Perez shrugged in response, the missile launcher carried casually on one shoulder bouncing.
“Yeah, but we’re not cops cops.”
“… Keep telling yourself that, buddy.” Asha replied, shaking her head bemusedly.
“Quite down,” Lisa cut in, “we’re hitting the operation area. The only chatter I wanna here is that tactical @*&^ and &$*^-talking artichokes. Perez, I want you up on that building watching this approach.”

Nomads Deployment
On the left, deploy the Vertigo zond standing with lengthwise ARO opportunity. Billy there to help protect the zone and lend repeater coverage.
Moran with combi rifle elevated near left console, koala deployed low and forward.
Jazz deployed prone in the center; Nearby a haris of a digger (who rolled the +1 B adhesive launcher), gecko, Valeyra
Moran boarding shotgun in the middle covering close angles, and the koala in covering both right hand consoles.
Algucile fireteam deploying in bottom right corner, with a missile launcher providing overwatch to the right side approach.
McMurrough as reserve model on the left.

Tohaa Turn 1
Kriegal activates and uses mirrorball to block the algucile’s line of sight.
Sukuel HMG advances through the smoke to get into a good range to fight the missile wielding algucile, and knocks him unconscious/
That team (makaul, kamael FO) continues to advance to try to grab top right console, have some difficulty and need several orders to activate it.
Chaksa wades into protected corner of upper left quadrant
Kriegal advances a little, shoots a speculative grenade at the moran armed with combirifle, and KOs him.

Nomad Turn 1
McMurrough moves up left with his impetuous order.
Gecko and team move up the right approach, gecko engages a kauri sentinel armed with sniper rifle using it’s panzerfaust and destroys it.
Gecko tries to fight sukuel, gets an HMG round right to the optics and takes 2 wounds to a critical hit.

Dak medikits the unconscious algucile successfully. The missile wielding algucile rejoins the fireteam and advances, splitting fire between the sukuel and makaul – explodes makaul but is knocked unconscious by the sukuel again.
Gecko retries the fight with the sukuel, lands hits and removes the symbiomate, but the sukuel retreats into cover.
Dak brings missile back again; after reforming the fireteam the missile launcher fires again, this time at the kamael FO, with the splash hitting the sukuel, removing both from the field.
Gecko goes suppression fire
Rest of the turn is spent repositioning, including Jazz sending a pitcher up the left side.

Neutral Zone Control

Tohaa turn 2
Triad led by a Sakiel advances, fires at repeater, inexplicably repeater survives the first volley. They continue advancing and destroy the repeater. Now safe, the hacker activates the nearby console.
Chaska armed with heavy rocket launcher fires at gecko from outside the range of suppression fire. Geck is hit but passes armour and retreats into full cover.
Kriegal uses it’s grenade launcher to speculative fire at a koala, but it fails.

Nomad turn 2
Reform haris, forget that there’s an HRL nearby and the gecko advances into a fight with the chaksa again. The gecko hits but does not wound the chaksa
Carlotta arrives in the back corner, and KOs the chaksa using her breaker combi rifle.

Gecko starts scooting around, shooting and an disabling a midfield reex escort.
Valyra takes lead, throws pitchers forward; she tries to spotlight the rasail who successfully resets, then activates the console.
Mcmurrough throws some smoke for Jazz, who crawls towards but does not reach the console, and successfully spotlights rasail
Hurl a smart missile at rasail, killing it’s chaksa peripheral.
Carlotta tries to shoot rasail a little, but fails in part due to dense vegetation and nanoscreen.
Gecko fires at sakiel on my left side, hits but the symbiomate protects it

Mcmurrough charges the triad through the smoke; uses his chain rifles and miraculously survives, hacker does as well (thanks to symbio curiass)

+2 for spotlighting rasail for classified telemetry

Tohaa turn 3
Not in retreat
Reex armed with k1 marksman slides over, KOs gecko
Kaeltar uses a flashpulse to stun Carlotta
Clipsos minelayer jumps out of hidden deployment, fails to dodge two koalas and is destroyed.
Rasail splits fire between Carlotta and Valeyra, eventually KOs them both,

Nomad Turn 3
Mcmurrough charges impetuously, miraculously survives another viral round to the face and KOs the hacker and the kriegal with chain rifles akimbo

We call it there as Nomads can end turn at 6 to 1; could probably have got another 2 consoles for 8 to 1 reasonably easily (gecko pilot pops out for nearby console, and Jazz can make a short run for elevated console

“Woo! I feel like I could fight the whole squad! Who wants to fight?! Permission to brawl, chief?” Perez shouted, fist pumping up into the air as he fixed Lisa with a wild-eyed grin. His enthusiasm was cut short by a mild cuffing from Asha, who added
“Absolutely do not let him do that, doctor’s orders. One of his lungs is full of biofoam, he’s got a half dozen broken ribs, and and he’s on enough combat stimulants to knock out one of those taigha things Jazz keeps cursing about.”
Lisa nodded in response and reinforced the message.
“Just sit tight and listen to the dak, Perez, you did good work.”
