This game was played round three of a 10 - person, 3 round ITS event held in Orange County California.
Since it was a tournament game, I was more focused on playing within the time constraint than I was on taking pictures and crafting a narrative. Apologies in advance for using one photo for multiple story beats.
Continuing our chase of the Combined Army forces in the region we arrived at their stronghold. Held up was the Avatar themselves. Knowing this might be our only opportunity to destroy their leader, we deployed aggressively, planning to eliminate the Avatar before the battle even started.
Our enemy deployed extremely defensively with no overwatch whatsoever. Fortunately, this played into our hand. Additionally, the impersonators we deployed into our enemy rank seemed to go unnoticed. Not surprising since Al-Djabel was amongst them.
Our brave Hunzakut sacrificed herself to place a repeater within range of the enemy lieutenant. Knowing the Avatar would be formidable, our Barid targeted the nearby Taigha and Salve Drone for missile strikes. This gambit paid off to our advantage as the Avatar was dead in a matter of minutes.
It was clear to us that the Umbra Samaritan known as Nourkias had taken command. He deployed a similar tactic to our own: extending their hacking network and attempting to missile strike our lieutenant. The Barid KHD, we deployed to defend Saladin did their job. Delaying the enemy long enough to stop the threat.
Our counterstrike was fierce. Zuleyka, the Mukhtar, and Asawira tore through the Combined Armies defensive network.
In desperation, Nourkias attempted to advance up our flank. Our layered defense was enough to stop him in his tracks.
Seeing no other options, the Combined Army forces retreated.
Haqq wins 6-4
After the Avatar kill, my opponent was on the back foot. The game was a bit janky because my opponent deployed Bit and Kiss, who were not in their list but made significant play in the game (I've done this before so I had plenty of sympathy). We decided to play on but my opponent was definitely not feeling great about it. After my opponents second turn stalled, he decided to call it. I've been at events with this opponent before and he is an excellent community member and a good infinity player. I hope we get to play again soon.
I mad a mistake in my first turn. After having killed the avatar, I should have cybermasked my barid KHD and just stood next to Saladin. This would have made him virtually unkillable as I had a jammer right next to that and my opponent had no climbing plus in their list.
It was really great to have an in person tournament again and I am glad I got the games in.
Another glorious victory, and one less avatar; a solid win!
ECM? No issue here. Man that was a great way to get rid of the Avatar! Great report!
Congratulations on your victory, Commander! Well done!!
Great work, Methuselah! You’re a huge boon to the cause.
That is a lot of skull and crossbones! Great work!
Strong BatRep. 🙂

Very nice. The Old Man in the Mountain is watching.
I love the picture-in-picture there. That’s really nice.
Another 3 points for Haqqislam.
Keep up the great work.
Great report! Tnx
Most excellent report!
Nice work dealing with the Avatar. I’ll have to consider Deployable Repeaters more.
SPOTLIGHT!
