VS Nomads

*Begin Recording*

“Greetings commanders, after the inconclusive result of our last experiment we have decided to retool the technology for a smaller test unit. Nomad units have agreed to assist again and are considering this a training exercise.”

*Several screen show various angles of a large facility on a space dock. Two forces are arrayed on either side. Both seem smaller than usual, but they are quickly organized and a horn blares, signaling the start of the exercise*

The Haqq forces quickly take a strong lead, with several things happening in rapid succession. An Azrail in a traffic control tower guns down a Jaguar who had been screening but left himself a little to exposed. This one kill leaves an opening that is quickly exploited. A small explosion occurs and a Sekban slams into the room, advancing and gunning down an exposed doctor who had been coordinating the Jaguars. Two more Sekban enter the ship from the same hole, wearing EVA suits. The three immediatly begin coordinating, advancing and gunning down the last two Jaguars. The finish off a Wildcat who was isolated in a corner leaving the whole flank under Haqq control expect for a single Moran hiding on a roof. Leila advances and attempts to use the Morans repeater to take out Valerya, but is suprised by a Sombra KHD who manages to take her out.

The initiative shifts to the Nomads, who find themselves on the back foot since the WIldcat had been their LT. Without a CO each trooper takes the action he deems best. The Nomad units that had been held in reserve also drop in to help stabilize the fight, but the Evader drops in too close to a repeater and his armor is locked down by an Al’Hawwa. A Gecko also drops in using a boarding vehicle suspiciously similar to what the Maghariba had used previously.

The Sekban team advances again but is mostly thwarted by the Sombra and the mines the Morans had set. There is some confusion by the Sombra about the rules of the training exercise and she takes a “death” despite the Sekban not having “mortally” wounded her. The referee signals for her to stay down instead of interrupting the exercise to reset. The Sekban doctor goes down during the exchange of fire but the other two have enough momentum left to take out the last Jaguar on the field and one of the Moran before falling back in to more defensible positions. The rest of the Haqq forces move into better positions, covering the areas the Gecko will have to use to advance. As part of this the Ghulam doctor picks up Leila and both retreat back into the tower the Azrail is using as a firebase.

The Nomads are beginning to run out of steam, but have enough left in them to make important moves. The second nomad fireteam, now consisting of Valerya and Massacre, advances to the Geckos position. Instead of having the Gecko advance in to heavy fire and a dangerous ECM network Massacre uses his smoke to try and take out the Hawwa. Shockingly the Hawwa survives and is stuck in melee with Massacre. The rest of the Nomad units move defensively to try and survive until they have another chance to advance.

The Haqq swing back begins with a tactical trade by the Haqq forces. A Haqq Fanous flashbot advances and begin furiously flashing in to the melee, blinding both the Hawwa and Massacre. WIth his foe disabled the Hawwa manages to escape and Massacre is gunned down by the Azrail. WIth few foes left to engage the Haqq forces fall back, believing the Gecko to be insufficient material for the Nomads to claim victory. The Ghulam doctor also advances to try and pick up the Sekban doctor, but is forced to use her medikit which fails to patch him up.

The Nomad forces are beleaguered but despite heavy losses they still have a TAG. The Gecko advances to try and salvage the situation and begins strong, taking and winning firefights successively with the Sekban spitfire, then the Ghulam doctor and the Sekban boarding shotgun. His armor get scuffed in the process but he has advanced far enough to take a firefight with the Azrail. This proves inconclusive and the referees call the skirmish there, giving the win to the Haqq forces.

“Despite several hiccups with the coordination and communication, both sides consider this both a successful technological exhibition and a successful joint training exercise. Commanders from both sides have applied to be considered for any future engagements. This task force also highly commends the Sekban teams and would recommend High Command seriously consider ammending their training regimen to include Airborne tactics. While more training and testing is required, they appear to be very capable airborne infiltrators.”
