Investigation Report of diplomatic incident between QK Commander Mehmed IV (Born Louis) forces and those of MO Commander ThunderFury.

Report by special correspondent Meme-Ed LXIX
Presented to the HHC and the Durgama Defense Coalition
On the 6th day of the Combined Army offensive on Durgama region.

It is Louis' claim that payment for a delivery was reversed and it is in accordance with mercantile rules and regulations that he can repossess the goods in question. It is with the interests of the HHC at heart that he opted for that option rather than submitting a civil claim with the business bureau or ask for arbitration in the dispute as, he said, "the goods would better benefit members of the DDC rather than MO". Normally, such dispute would not be subject to investigation but with the recent events in Durgama, it is a necessity to investigate any fighting between human sphere factions. I was unable to confirm the goods in question from review of the battle's comlogs nor from the interviews with witnesses.

Force composition and deployment

QK Army List

QK took a Djanbazan core fireteam with their Total Terrain (Sh Mmrf, doctor and hacker), a Hafza FO (masking as Leila), an Odalisque Spitfire. In a Haris, Azra'il and a Odalisque were complementing each other range bands. A lone ghulam was defending the back of the deployment zone. The group was led by a Mobile Brigada, a friend of Louis. A Bashi Bazouk helped hiding the Lieutenant. A Yuan Yuan and a Hawwa Sniper rounded up the 15 units list.

QK Deployment with Reserve (Azra'Il and Sniper)

MO had a Knight Hospitaller Core fireteam (HMG, Doctor, Doctor, BSg) led by De Fersen. A Fugazi, a Curator with Palbot and a Montessa Paramedic rounded up the single combat group, leaving room for a hidden deployed Trinitarian FO and a combat jumper Crusader MR+LFT.

MO deployment (biker was reserve trooper)

Initial strike

The Djanbazan fireteam moved up the left flank to engage the Knight HMG but failed to harm him. The Brigada and Azra'il duo moved up to better positions.

A skirmisher moved to the flank to force the Djan fireteam to move back, he eventually traded his life for that of the doctor. The doctor regeneration failed. The Knight HMG moved on the side of the building while everyone else moved on top. He took out the sniper, which cleared the way for the medic to floor it to the armoury. He failed three time to enter the unlock code. The Fugazi moved up the right flank closer to the QK Heavy Infantry.

Bogged down

With MO failing to grab the Armory, QK had a chance to get there first. The YY came with parachutist on the right flank, unfortunately he landed too close to the bot which turned arround and got spotlit by De Fersen. Losing his chance of chain rifling the Fugazi, he moved closer to the enemy engineer trying to cover himself with smoke, but the Remote stunned him. Finally, he blindly moved forward and dodged the engineer bullets.
As for the fireteam, they moved back around the building while the Djanbazan hacker finished climbing the ladder and net-undermined the enemy side. The Odalisque Spitfire slowly managed to knock out De Fersen and the HMG. But that was about it. The Bashi Bazouk moved forward to a better position.

With Lieutenant De Fersen down, the MO forces had to recover. Which they did admirably. One doctor healed De Fersen while another went back down to shoot a medikit into the HMG, reviving him. The paramedic biker, though, still failed to Unlock the Armoury.

Breaching the armoury

The YY quickly exploded the Curator. While the MO did revive, they had not yet rejoined the fireteam. The Odalisque shot De Fersen again, and thinking either he'll get down (knocked or guts to survive) or she'll die, the rest of the linkteam moved out in the open. Unfortunately, neither happened and the fireteam was now exposed. Including the very important Hafza FO, the only key unit that could open the Armoury. The Brigada then order a coordinated attack on De Fersen, with the three that could see him (Odalisque, Djan Sh Mmrf, Hafza) while he moved out closer the the Armoury. De Fersen attempted to dodge but was knocked out again. Then the Odalisque tried taking out the Knight HMG by herself, who managed to dodge while the Montessa also dodged to the corner. She tried to shoot both target, then the Djan Sh Mmrf also tried as he moved to grab cover at the Armoury but died to the Knight HMG. In a desperate push, the Hafza moved up to the side of the Armoury, dodging both the HMG and the Montessa shotgun. Finally out of view, he opened it, and moved out to the corner. To conclude, the Brigada entered the Armoury and the YY tried to gain sight to the biker and Armoury. Luckily, the Djan regenerated.

With the Brigada inside the Armoury, MO had to move quickly ! The Knight HMG rejoined the fireteam. The Montessa impetuously engaged the Hafza, they traded shotgun blasts. The Hafza died and the biker took a wound from either the Hafza or the Djanbazan. The Crusader finally arrived, inside QK deployment, where the fireteam had started. He carefully moved up and killed the Djanbazan again, from his back. The knight fireteam moved and dodged, but the one with the shotgun got wounded by the Brigada. They then jumped down the building and the injured knight died to another salvo of DA rounds. The doctor (with Combi Rf) moved to the door, causing one wound to the Brigada but only taking one wound himself from the flame. The YY's pistol missed as well as the Bashi's shotgun (OOC, both were looking at -3 range, and no cover). The doctor and hmg moved inside the room, killing the Brigada which burnt the HMG, The YY and Bashi missed again. With the Bashi still overseeing the path to the Panoplies, MO didn't want to test their luck and didn't reach for them.

OOC Conclusion

Very close and fun game. MO had 3OP for the final turn scoring while QK had 1 OP from the Classified.

5-4 MOV on Djanbazan is awesome (Hafza would have masked as Djan, but 4-4 speed could give it away.) Thinking of it, my Hafza FO should have dropped a deployable repeater for my rooftop djan hacker to be involved. Or, maybe I should have included it in the Coordinated; but then Brigada would have missed out on barely entering the armoury.
The initial moving out required to go to the flank, far from the armoury, to engage MO. Considering the order stripped, I should have went for the armoury - and I should have remembered about dropping a repeater on opposite the knight fireteam, they would have had no way to remove it (the biker was seen by sniper if coming out on one side and azra'il if coming out from the other side). But I was worried about the hidden model, and from that logical path, I would have probably been forced a critical choice against a hidden ARO.

Also, at start of T2, I regretted having the FO with the core, the Azra'il really could have used a specialist in my DZ in front of the armoury, it would have solved the T3 headache of moving my fireteam across the open to get to the Armoury side door (which is what all the T2 shooting was meant to do - clear the way from ARO pieces).
