Lt. Netu watched the tech coffin drift off into space from the air lock. This was a moment of peace after the brutality of the previous engagement. Soon the transponder on the coffin would be picked up by the Tunguska agent and he would slip out to the inky darkness beyond this hellhole. He idly leaned his forehead against the viewing port window as if he could will himself out and float away.

A Hollow Man broke Netu’s reverie…incoming unfriendlies…reading as….Pan Oceania.

“Shit” came Mary Problem’s voice over comms. “The ALEPH scum must have given their lapdogs a heads up.”

Lt. Netu quickly turned around, his visor overlaid with incoming data and telemetry. His reverie broken he quickly assumed his command. With his lips curling in a humorless smile, Lt. Netu gave commands to set-up a defensive perimeter. Speaking via the comms to his team, “We’ll whip these curs back to their dog house and resume operations to secure this rail gun”.

Mission

Annihilation Tunguska against Svalarheima at the Starboard Battery Railgun

Deployment

Paladin Ikari wins turn order and I, Lambstorm, take deployment. Paladin Ikari deploys a heavy Nisse bunker with Multi-Sniper, HMG, Paramedic and Uma Sorenson (who was his LT.). He sprinkles various infiltrators, including a Nokken x2, Locusts x2 and a Kunai agent. With the ITS biker every model in his army has Mimetism.

I deploy with some concern. Tunguska has a tough time against mimetism and I didn’t take any MSV. I counter deploy the Hollow Men across from the Nisse hoping to take out a model or two and eventually do my super jump to pick out fools at my leisure. With my Mary Problems, Interventor and Heckler with Fast Panda on the flanks I have hacking and targeting. Vertigo Zond is safely hidden behind cover in the back right and my Transductors spread along middle/left flank. I deploy the Bounty Hunter with Sforza haris in a neutral spot in the middle with cover to attack anything coming in and out of line of sight of the Nisse.

Top of Turn 1

Paladin Ikari spends his orders this turn advance skirmshers.

The Kunai moves around containers, unrevealed until he engages the Interventor LT. The Kunai kills the dodging Interventor but is put down by the Hollow Man with combi-rifle.

Next the Nokken moves forward to take out Mary Problems but she dodges and rolls away.

Bottom of Turn 1

Reeling from the loss of Lt. Netu, Lambstorm attempts to salvage the situation with use of command tokens to activate the Heckerl with Cautious move and deploy a Fast Panda. This allows Mary Problems to place White Noise to prevent Paladin Ikari’s Nisse fireteam from all reacting at once against the Hollow Men.

Using Command Tokens Lambstorm attempts to take out the Nisse Sniper with the Hollow Men. First with the Missile Launcher and then with the Spitfire. Poor dice rolls means only one wound is inflicted.

The ABH haris shifts to take shots at the forward Nokken hunting Mary. He gets glued successfully.

The motorized Bounty Hunter recklessly drives forward and hits his Locust rifleman with a Red Fury, killing him.

Otherwise, Zonds are shifted around in prep for the next turn to get Spotlights on advancing inflitraters.

Top of Turn 2

The Nokken goes out of his way to shake off glue and goes after Mary Problems. She ends up getting caught by his Boarding shotgun, going down. Nokken survives the counter strike but does end up targeted by Hollow Man hacker via a Transductor.

He moves the other Nokken, Locust and Motorized BH and others getting in the targeted state.

Hollow Men start accruing damage from Nisse and Nokken. A Transductor goes down. ABH haris slowly gets picked apart.

Bottom of Turn 2

The Nokken gets obliterated by a missile strike from the Vertigo Zond. Hollow Men put some damage out, destroying a Locust but those damn Nisse still remain.

Top of Turn 3

Attrition has really hurt me as he drives his motorized BH into my back line, finishing off the last BH and laying down BSG template on the Stemplers while they bring the bike down.

Bottom of Turn 3

Now it’s really difficult to do much with so many models out. All that remains is my Hollow Man hacker, a Transductor Zond and the Vertigo Zond. Spending my final orders Targeting+Missile Launcher.

Final Notes

Final Score 8-1 in Svalarheima’s favor. Everything having mimetism hurt me, though my saving grace was Spotlight/ML. Bad dice rolls didn't help matters.

...the sole remaining Hollow Man looked over to the surviving Zonds. He shook his head and muttered, "amateur hour" as the Zonds simply beeped in response. He strapped up Lt. Netu's and Mary Problem's bodies for cube removal onto the Zonds and mapped a rendezvous with Correigedor Command.
