Durgama Takeover

Jane Doe reporting from Darpan, still a bit shocked from the last piece of action but we must accept reality for what it is so let’s keep fighting, let’s keep living and be a voice of fact over this void of noise. I managed to repair my trusty old Aircam so now we have some color. Got to say the quote from the last report stills hold true but so does this one…

This ancient people had a clear sight and right into the bullseye in many things, while I feel we are on a trembling, double doubting ground on a daily basis. Surely both stances have something useful but on this report I’m going to stay with the old man words because this was a clear example of those words. Meaning that became truth with a resounding sound that made animals and men start to move while the ground started to tremble.

Followed by the sound of falling gibberish from tables and the sound of birds flying away an elite force of Aleph soldiers started gearing themselves and swiftly moving up to intercept whatever was coming. This was the first time that I was going to see one of the “Two Kings” of SP forces on action, Hector: the champion of Troy. Even so I had my reservation because of the trembling of approaching enemies and once I managed to have a clear sight my doubts where confirmed because the combined Army had brought an Avatar right into one Aleph Stronghold on Concilium Prime. Furthermore, this Avatar was being followed by two more TAGs and with that on sight I thought to myself… this was just possible because the self-harm that the human sphere factions had been doing to themselves by fighting each other for selfish pride and doubt.

First of all, Hector order to stand still and well hidden, instructing only Atalanta to keep an eye out from a safe distance guarded by a Myrmidon officer to punish incoming CA titans advance. A risky move but on this front was a calculated and worthy tactic that actually trade off. Atalanta managed hit and wound from extreme range the enemy Tag, I believe they call it a Raicho that tried to pin down Atalanta without success while at the same time the Myrmidon with her throw smoke to give the Ace shooter of the Human Sphere better odds on future exchanges.

Once the Combined Army forces slowed down, Hector started moving right to intercept the enemy Avatar with such commitment that make me curious about if it was a decisions perfectly calculated or there was a bit of fear on the equation. This Myrmidon Fireteam moved carefully throwing smoke to not be seen and even managed to finish on of the TAGs that Atalanta hit previously. After managing to partially hack the Avatar, Hector advanced and then they went all or nothing against the Avatar, they throw a smoke close to the massive monster that upon hearing continue to advance hoping to catch the Myrmidons on the move. From the smoke the myrmidons appeared with haste, weapons ready following Hectors decisive push to end the avatar one and for all. The Avatar threw some kind of liquid fire that seemed to do nothing. Three swings from Hector sword pierced and took down the Avatar that fell to the ground loudly, echoing all over the battlefield.

This was the moment when I understand the decisive action by Hector against the Avatar because right after the mentioned Monster fell down, Machaon tried to stab Hector while a Myrmidon Hacker attempted to hack him almost a the same time like they were waiting of a moment to betray him. The chaos on the comms made Alke to order her Thorakitai to advance and secure the battlefield and do not allow the last TAG of the enemy to approach freely.

After the battel I learned that that the alien “flamethrower” was some kind of bioweapon that kills the free will and subjugates almost anyone it touches, but Hector loyalty to the Human Sphere is far greater. The Steel Phalanx leader knew that his former comrades where being controlled and that they knew that if it came to that it was his responsibility to secure them a death standing rather than a life on their knees. Hector ordered Atalanta to finish the Myrmidon Hacker, thing that she did swiftly and then he pierced Machaon in a move that faked a sight of two old friends hugging for a last time.
Alke was shouting over the comms if everything was alright while keep a keen eye into the horizon, knowing that the zone was about to be hit by a hazardous biotechvore storm on the sides of the battlefield. After the hazardous climate, a big explosion was heard on the east of the battlefield and a column of black smoke could be seen not far. The avatar was no more.

At this point Aleph might was the clear winner and the hammer against the CA anvil.., Sorry if this comparison was too much on the nose. But the battle was not over and the annoying hazardous biotech waves where still a threat to consider, further more Hector knew leaving Alien troopers flee was lability they could not afford. Alke’s fire team managed to wound and attack the Raicho that was cornered against Atalanta’s watch. She that finished the job with her perfect aim before moving up. The Myrmidon officer advanced into enemy lines to kill the Hiding engineer and almost was burned to a crisp but managed to leave no CA trooper alive.
Silence returned to the battlefield and the surviving soldiers began to gather their fallen, prepare for extraction and get ready for whatever came next. I hope this reach those who make the calls, because the CA forces are dangerous and are clearly a threat that is taking advantage of our fractured home. I’m not fully sold of Aleph capability to stand alone and protect us but I’m damm sure that they are giving it all even if they are being stabbed on the by those who they are protecting.

The winner of this game decided where the reports would be uploaded because of the short time available to play more than one game by both commanders. This prearrangement worked like this:
- When both commanders’ managed to set a schedule and the game was confirmed we would communicate what mission (this included the place where to upload the report) each player want to battle. From those two possible missions one would be the one played, this with at least 24 to 72 hrs before the game. Once we played there is a 50% chance that the winner and the mission played would be the accurate one played. If the winner was the commander that wanted the other mission (location), the one that was not played, we would upload it on the desired location using the “custom mission” option on the battle reports.
Many opponent miniatures where proxies (he usually is with JSA), but where rightfully presented and it was clearly indicated what miniatures where representing each specific CA profile.
