Durgama Takeover

Above, the glittering mass of metal alight with the scattering of weapons fire grew larger and larger, still tiny compared to the vast blanket of inky darkness spotted with stars and untold, unseen horrors. The shuttle, much smaller than the commandeered vessel “Wings of Gold”, rattled and rumbled as it hit patches of unseen debris and detritus that was now slowly decaying from orbit and falling to the planet below. The interior was quiet and cold, nothing but quiet prayers could be heard, muffled by the vac-suits.

“Should we really be stealing from them? They are our allies are they not?”

“They control the entire fire control module, yet do not lend support to our troops on the ground when they need it most. Those beacons could turn the tide of the battles on the world below”

Capture and Protect, Haqqislam VS Nomads

Winning the roll-off and wanting the advantage of terrain, Haqq chose to take deployment and force the opponent to set up first.

After deployment, and with two order less due to strategic command token use, the Nomads began their push. Initially uncontested, the core link pushes forward before it began taking return fire from the Fanous and Naffatun. Though both failed to cause harm, they did delay them by forcing them to cover. The return fire would slowly pick off the Fanous and Naffatun, with the return fire from them and their attempts to dodge failing. The uncontested shots from the djanbazan set up on high ground failed. The bandit moves up into the midfield and the turn ends.

Djanbazan pushes forward, discovering the Intruder at the far end, but fails to kill it in the next order. Pushing up, the Fasid and Lasiq duo push forward, eventually firing at the intruder but receiving glancing blows in return as the Fasid misses. The lasiq fares better, forcing the Intruder to make 4 BTS saves, which it passes and ducks to safety. Angered, the lasiq discovers and melts the Bandit. With the midfield clear, the NCO sekban pushes forward using the lieutenant orders, wounding the evader in an exchange of shots. Realizing they would need to stop a large push, the lasiq goes into suppression on the stairs and the Bashi Bazouk arrives.

As the Nomad core pushes forward the evader dies to the sekban who is themselves killed. The highground gallery fires at the squad uncontested.
They all miss.
As the Core pushes deeper and tries to take cover, the entire gallery fires at the squad which fails the majority of its dodges.
They all miss (except the lasiq, who lands a limit of range shot that wounds the Mobile Brigada)
The Jaguar within the core fires his panzerfaust at the Djanbazan, who fails and goes down, though the jaguar is in turn melted by the lasiq.
The rest of the gallery fires uncontested.

As the remains of the core squad push forward with the Number 2 saving it from dissolving, the gallery shoots (suppression was out of range for the lasiq).

The Barid is taken out by the mobile brigada. The gallery shoots.

On the Haqq turn the Djanbazan fails regen and dies. The Bashi pushes forward, masked as holograms to deal with the intruder. As the Bashi strafes behind laying shot after shot into the intruder but failing to harm it, the situation becomes clear. Pushing beyond the intruder (who thankfully fails his dodges) the bashi pushes to the objective and collects it on the last regular order. The lieutenant realizes her flank is exposed and uses both of her lieutenant order to reposition and go into suppression. With the round over and the beacon in hand, Haqq scores 2 points.

Pushing towards the deployment zone and the downed Barid, the diminished Nomad core take fire from the gallery above.
They miss
Exchanging fire with the LT Ghulam, the already wounded Mobile Brigada goes down. The Wildcat in tow takes fire from the gallery.
They miss
Pushing forward to secure the secondary objective the wildcat manages to take a scan of the downed Barid, before dying to a hail of fire from the entrenched LT.

On the Haqq turn and severely diminished, the lasiq and Fasid reform their duo, pushing forward in tandem towards the intruder and objective. Face to face with both, and aware of the ploy the intruder fires at the lasiq, who dodges alongside the Fasid. The fasid closes the gap into melee, but the lasiq fails, taking a hit. Miraculously surviving, and passing the roll to fail guts she scoots to break line of sight. On the last order the duo splits as the lasiq rushes and grabs the objective, and fasid distracts by taking a knife to the face. With the end of the round, Haqq scores and additional 2 points.

The battle ends 5-1 with a victory for Haqq. With the beacons secured the Haqq raiders of the Volunteer Force retreated, with wounded soldiers and wounded pride. The beacons would go to good use, assisting the ground-side forces who had been isolated without outside support for far too long. Though once again a skirmish with allies, when time is of the essence not even a moment can be wasted trying to convince others of the bigger picture. Action and Determination had seen them through countless merciless battles, and would see them through many more to come.
