VS O-12
Mark

After two failed raids, the Shasvastii were handed a new task by their Mentor – take the satellite controls from the O-12 forces guarding it, and cause confusion and panic with what they could find.
For this mission, might would make right with the Sphinx leading the charge. The first target was Andromeda, hunting with her cat near the deployment zones, but she saw the Sphinx coming and dodged out of the way. Not wanting to waste time hunting her down, the Sphinx turned attention to the Kappa sniper and missile launcher overseeing the facility, taking them out to clear the way for the rest of the troops to move. Taking on the second of these, it ignored the pathetic little war reporter April O’Neil and was dealt a blow by being stunned by her flash pulse.
Seeing the attack stumble, the mentor took it into his hands to show the troops what to do, repositioning so he could take out Andromeda to secure the flank. This lesson was taken to heart by the seep striking Malignos, who managed to run up the board unspotted to be able to fry the circuits of the PSI-Cop, before retreating to claim an antenna.
On the backfoot, the Starmarda forces sent a Varangian guard racing up to the Malignos under cover of smoke. The Malignos managed to dodge backwards step by step, and weathered a single CC strike before the attack ran out of steam. The Varangian would later fall in an exchange with a maurading Taigha, but boldly stay doggedly hanging onto the Malignos to take it out of the fight for a while.
Casanova then took it upon himself to waltz up the middle of the board, dodging all incoming fire to stake the middle antenna and then take up a defensive position.
Back in camouflage, the Sphinx sprinted around the back of Casanova, only to be flashed by April O’Neil yet again – damn it April, not now! With the main attack of Shasvastii blunted it was left to an unassuming Tensho Expert, who was only brought on the mission for his technical skills, to exchange several rounds of fire with the pomped up playboy until the white suit was peppered with bloody holes; and then the Tensho managed to flip the central antenna and the mission for the EI.
Following up the last main hope for Starmada was Parvati, who was trying to redeem herself for not saving the PSI-Cop earlier. She raced into where the central antenna was being guarded by the Sphinx and showered it with submachine rounds, taking heavy chunks from it’s armour. Unfortunately Pravati found that while her metal body could withstand one heavy flamer blast, the second evaporated her into the atmosphere, just like the hopes of Starmarda.
But wait – there is a Cyberghost making a last minute dash! Oh no, he’s wandered past a Q-drone and is now full of holes.
Satisfied with one completed mission, the Shasvastii withdraw back to their hidden ships, slipping away from the battle once more.
