Extermination

Lt Hauser was pressed into his set as the shuttle's thrusters kicked in. The last week had been a whirlwind of battle and now they were redeploying for more. Seems like human greed and infighting had weakened Raveneye and allowed the aliens back onboard. Doesn't matter. The soldiers of Dawn did their duty when and where they were needed. The Councillium had assigned them to the starboard battery and they would defend it as if it where the New Coke plant on Dawn itself.

Around the cabin his troopers were resting. After going dirtside they hadn't had the pleasure of a nice soft seat in days.

'The snoring sounds like grunting of a Dog Bowl match in here.' Hauser thought to himself as he checked the breifing.

'Confirmed significant Combined army presence in AO. Deploy to Starboard battery and eliminate the enemy. Hold position at all costs.'

Just then the pilots switched on the lights and called back, 'Docking in 5 and it sounds like there is fighting in the battery. Get your game faces on.'

We deployed heavy to the left with only the HMG Blackjack and the Spetsnaz on the right.

Combined army forces mirrored our deployment for the most part, focusing on the center and left, with only a Charontid and Rodok on the right.

With the significant enemy forces deployed I urged our Dog warrior to exercise caution. Typically I'd encourage a bold charge, but the situation was too dangerous so I held him back.

The most serious threat was the Charontid and I felt the AP HMG Blackjack could effectively engage. This turned out to be correct. There was an intense firefight, but the Charontid was slain. The Blackjack went on to secure the right flank by eliminating the Rodok and Imetron.

On the left we redeployed some units to prepare for our second wave, but no enemy was engaged.

The Combined army began their advance at this point. The level of fire was less than expected. The Samaritan engaged the T2 Blackjack, but all fire was ineffective. Some other minor engagements occurred, but no casualties were reported. Mainly the enemy moved their forces forward.

This shift forward opened the way for our attack. I could no longer hold the Dog Warrior back. He initiated his attack leaping up and firing on the Caliban.

Knowing the Dog warrior would continue to advance I ordered the Tankhunter HMG to clear the path for him. The Samaritan stood in his way and would prove a difficult fight. Fortunately, the concentrated fire from the Tankhunter cut it down.

With the path cleared the Dog Warrior continued it's charge. Engaging and wounding both the Rodok and Mentor before being rendered unconscious by a shot from Dr. Wurm.

The Tankhunter repositions and fires on the advancing Ikadron, tearing it to pieces, while our doctor rushed to the aid of the fallen Dog Warrior.

The enemy is hurting at this point so their Med-Tech tries to bring some troops back. Dodging fire from the T2 Blackjack and the Tankhunter the doctor reaches the fallen Rodok. Fortunately, the space monkey's wounds were too serious and the Med-tech failed to revive it.

The Legate advanced firing upon the Tankhunter, but again, no injuries were sustained on either side.

Finally, the 112 rushes to the Dog Warriors side and manages to stabilize him, while the Tankhunter eliminated all remaining enemy forces.

All enemy had been eliminated, no casualties to our forces.
