Durgama Takeover

There was a brief respite after the last engagement. It was quite concerning finding Combine army forces this well established in what was supposed to human territory. Lt Hauser could've cut the tension with a knife. His soldiers laughed and joked, but it was forced. Men and women from the Ariadnan frontier who go hand to hand with snarling Antipodes as regularly as washing up after dinner were worried.

'Alright boys, focus on your duty. We've shown those aliens what it means to tangle with the soldiers of Dawn. We've put them down, and we'll put them down again. A little lead and a sharp blade and they go down as easily as a another other beast. We've got this.'

Just then the scouts called in. Another contact. 'Time to get to work.'

I deployed my Dog Warriors to the center, Blackjack anchoring the left flank, and a Minuteman on and elevated walkway on the right. Skirmishers deployed to the treeline and elevated walkways.

Combined army Jayth, Q-Drone, and Dr Wurm on the right. Charontid and Unidrons on the left.

The Dog Warriors and Irmandinhos advance up the center using smoke as cover. There was an opening on the right we could use. I ordered our Airborne ranger to deploy. He quickly engaged the Jayth and Med-Tech. The Jayth was eliminated, while the Med-tech managed to flee.

The lead Dog Warrior pushed into the enemy center and eliminated an enemy Unidron.

The Combined army forces began to counter assault. A Fraacta drops in on the right to try to counter the Airborne Ranger. Fortunately the enemy reinforcements misjudged their drop point and ended up in a disadvantageous position.

The remaining Unidron moved to counter the Dog Warrior who popped smoke to negate the attack. The Q-Drone repositioned to cover the Dog Warriors avenue of approach.

The lead Dog Warrior charges into combat with the Q-Drone and dispatches it. Unfortunately, he was wounded. After handling the Q-Drone he bravely engaged the Charontid and Med-Tech. The second Dog engaged and disabled the remaining Unidron.

Uxia utilized her stealth skills to maximum effect and engaged the Fraacta. The alien was quickly eliminated.

Second Dog Warrior jumps to a roof to spray fire down on the Charontid, unfortunately unsuccessfully.

The Irmandinhos advance up the center drawing the Caliban out from hiding. With the Caliban revealed the Minuteman is clear to engage. The enemy is eliminated.

The Charontid opened fire on the Dog Warrior which fell to the enemy attack.

The Charontid shifts to the midfield to better engage our forces while the Umbra moves to investigate the airborne ranger.

Uxia again utilizes her stealth skills to eliminate the threat from the Umbra. The Spetsnaz and the Ranger move to complete mission objectives.

The Charontid is still active and refuses to surrender. It moves to engage an Irmandinho. The smuggler bravely stood his ground against the alien monstrosity. While the Charontid easily dispatched the Irmandinho, the sharpnel from his Chain rifle found a gap in the enemy armor and they both fell.
