VS Ariadna
Yevgueni Voronin

The Asura stepped out of the transport. As she surveyed the area, she decided it was good they had come. The place was a mess. The lights did not even seem to work properly. The Ariadnan’s definitely needed their help if they were going to keep the starboard battery operational. As she looked across the largely open landing platform, she saw an Ariadnan delegation making their way over. Good, lets get this out of the way, so my team can get to work. However, the Ariadnans had different ideas. Figured, these half dogs needed a show of force before they accepted help. So be it.

First things first, there was an official on the platform, her team had to verify that he was their contact. To that end, the Proxy, in her Mk V body moved into position. After several failed scan attempts [the Ariadnan’s couldn’t be jamming such sophisticated equipment, must from other forces in the area], the host managed to verify the targets designation. A designation was not enough, not with Combined forces in the area, so the Asura tasked the Danavus with a scan for espionage. The target came away clean. Parameters were as expected. Then the Marut stepped forward and killed a Strelok who came out of camoflage. Well, so much for a bloodless encounter.
A Scout moved up, behind his camoflage field. He swung around the corner, handing the Mk 5 a D-Charge, who foolishly accepted. The Proxy was thrown back to her Mk 1. Not done giving gifts, the Scout moved up to the Danavus. The Danavus returned the gift to sender, behind a breaker pistol, and the scout went down. A rather large camo field moved along the left flank, shadowed by a smaller one on the platform. In a bold move, the large field charged head long into the Asura. The battle was more even than the appearing Antipode expected, and he fell to the force that is an Asura.
Patroclus moved forward, not completely certain of the contact, and did a quick Follow-up. The total reaction Mule wanted to have a discussion of its own, and Patroclus didn’t like the conversation, so he had to lay down, while his smoke canister fizzed nearby. The Asura spotted another camoflage field, moved up inyo the construction area. It turned out to be a Strelok trying to make trouble. Then it wasn’t a Strelok. The Danavus moves up, hacking a nearby Tankhunter to aid her fellows in shooting. She then used Cybermask and attempted to sneak forward. Unfortunately, she either moved with too much grace or was just too pretty, becuase the rough Ariadnans didn’t fall for it. As her disquise fell, she had little choice but to trade shots with the sneering Tank Hunter. As the smoke cleared, the cursed Tank Hunter was still sneering, and the Danavus was laying down. Another Tank Huntr had moved forward, and the Marut took aim. She also took aim at a shape moving in the distant darkness. The shoots on the Tank Hunter succeeded, but the shape in the back was just to vague in the darkness.
The Ariadnans move to better hold positions. A Dozer moves up, hoping to be a hero. She doesn’t think she can take the Marut down, but she has other tools. She levels her Akylat-Kanone at the Marut. This should stop her. The Marut in turn activates an explosive round. Both fire almost instantaneously. However, the adhesive shell fails to activate and the Dozer heroically explodes in a mass of gore.
The Asura feels that she now has the Ariadnans attention and just moves up into further positions, holding the launch bay and Securing her contact.
The Ariadnans, beaten and bloodied, have no fight left in them. They begin to retreat, looking to cover an escape, but the Asura calls for parlay. Aleph has no wish to continue fighting. They are here to help. Together, Ariadnans and Aleph patch up the wounded, and make towards the battery looking to prepare for the battle against the EI.
As the two forces work together, the Asura can’t help but notice the cost of the perpetual mistrust. Even now the Ariadnans watch her troops sideways. It will take time to build true solidarity between these human factions. Time is the one thing the Human Sphere did not have.
