Durgama Takeover

It wasn’t a common sight. An.No.Ut., usually working with Concilium News Network as an O-12 liaison agent, was on the ground. No breaking news live on Maya, this time. But a record from the camera integrated in his armor.
– Cyberghost : “Officer ?”
– Off-screen male voice : “Speak.”
– Cyberghost : “What are we doing here ?”
– Off-screen male voice : “Waiting.”
– Blue Coat : “Waiting for… ?”
A gloved hand pointed at some moving shadows.
– Off-screen male voice : “Them.”
“Them” were six silhouettes in PanOceanian blue. A TechBee, four massive knights in armor and a blond woman in a smaller one, leading the group.
– Cyberghost : “Is she Joan of… ?”
– Off-screen female voice : Am I Lady Numiria ?”
The two O-12 agents turned quickly, hands on holsters, and look at where previously was their commanding officer.
– Blue Coat : “Holomask ?”
– Off-screen female voice : “Such an interesting question, isn’t it ?”
The group merged, some of the women and men warmly welcoming other ones.
– Off-screen female voice : “Thanks for coming. You were asking what we are doing here. We are about to enter this section of the bow before the Combined Army take complete control of it. Take a good look at my face. We are going to gather every single data bit relative to it, and to the name Lady Numiria. And before we leave, every server in this room will be destroyed. ”
The hand came again on screen, only to poke the caméra.
– Cyberghost : “Are you recording, officier ?”
– Off-screen female voice : “Everything. I wouldn’t like to be charged for being a traitor should a civilian run into me and impale on my sword. You know, these days…”
– Blue Coat : “Your words sound shady, at best. Why do you look like this traitor ? Why aren’t we… ?”
– Off-screen female voice : “She will be a traitor the day we will be able to prove it. For now she is an O-12 agent missing in action. Could have been you, or me. We are no avengers, we work for justice. And above everything we don’t let our mates behind. You have your ordres, don’t argue.”.
– Cyberghost : “I don’t like it, officer.
– Off-screen female voice : “Neither do I.”
– Cyerghost : “Maybe you shouldn’t co…”
The nearly sound of an explosion covered the rest of his sentence.
– Off-screen female voice : “We will settle this later. Take position !

Knight and agents swiftly moved into cover, except for some of them rushing in direction of the explosion (pictures #1 & #2). Hyppolita opened the game, opening a clear road to the console for the Lawkeeper to unlock the console. How practical it was to benefit for official O-12 access codes. A few minutes and they were back in safety, knowing where the data they were looking for was (picture #3). During this time, their PanOceanian allies avoided the trap set by an impersonated hassassin and managed to take his life (picture #4). It seemed some haqqislamits were taking the bait of the false Lady Numeria. Or maybe were they here for the same reason the knights were : erasing their data before aliens capture the place. Seizing initative was a good thing, because the Peeler’s batteries were still charging at the public terminal (picture #5).

On the right flank on top of a building, an ancien ally, Van Zant, came with his own orders and ambushed Liang Kaï (pictures #6 and #7). The two fought an epic duel, mortaly wounding each other. In the same time, at the center, the knights faced an assault from ariadnan from the inside of a building, and from haqqislamits from outside (picture #8). The PanOceanien suffered some wounds, but were very resilient. More than the Lawkeeper, who didn’t survive the assault.

Trying to go for the server, the Crusher came from the enemy flank, and tried to take a fragile remote down (picture #9). Tried. And failed. His success would be to make a Ragik come, giving some air to breathe for the rest of team.

The knights did the break, and entered the disputed building (pictures #10 and #11). Too much to handle for the Rangers, as the assassins were kept at bay by Hyppolita’s sword and the Cyberghost. A Ragik came from behind the Crusher, fighting him and killing him. Too slowly to be able to join the battle again, a small success for the O-12 guy. The big one was the rush of Hyppolita, who crossed the breach opened by the PanOceanian and destroyed the server (picture #12).

A few more died before the fight was over. Two knights, two Muyibs, a Grunt, a Foxtrot. A fierce fight. But the allied PanOceanians and O-12 agents held their ground. In the end, their enemy retreated to regroup.

The holo Lady Numiria was sitting on a server covered with dust, and showing some strange lights.
– Cyberghost : “Officer ?”
– Off-screen female voice : “Do we have all the date I required ?”
– Cyberghost : “Yes. And you are sitting on the last server. And I still don’t like what we did here. This data could hide some clues the detectives could use to find the real Lady Numiria. And you keep it. You look like a traitor.”
– Off-screen female voice : “Quick sentence without a trial. She isn’t a traitor, at least not yet. Neither am I. Are D-charges in place ?”
– Cyberghost : “Officer, I am…”
– Off-screen female voice : “I am no longer your commanding officer. You are in charge now. Bring the team home. Bring the date to the Bureau. Thanks to it O-12 might have better chances to catch Lady Numiria first. And help her.”
– Cyberghost : “What if she is guilty ?”
– Off-screen female voice : “Justice will judge. Not me. Leave, now. The killers will be back soon. I’ll buy you some time.”
– Cyberghost : “What ? Officer ! You can’t…”
– Off-screen female voice : “I can. I will. They want Lady Numiria’s cube. And for now they still think I might be her. After I detonate charges it will take time for them to realise that their prey had no cube.”
– Blue Coat : “No cube ? But you…”
– Off-screen female voice : “Will miss this L-host. Lambdas took my cube before we left Zebu. Show me my personal records, later, as I won’t remember today.”
– Cyberghost : “…”
– Blue Coat : “…”
– Off-screen female voice : “Don’t waste your chances. If I am wrong, O-12 will need this data. If I am right, my job is done. Next time, just think twice before calling someone a traitor.”
– Cyberghost : “… Was she Joan of Arc, Officer ?”
– Off-screen female voice : “I won’t remember that either, sorry.”
A few minutes later, one last explosion occured.
