In the name of God, the Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Surah 30, the Romans, teaches us that God is the ultimate arbiter of victory and only He can decide whether it belongs to the Muslims or others. As an inexperienced commander I wasn’t sure if I could win, but in hindsight, even though I am not part of Ahl Al-Kitab, I do find a degree of divine punishment for my mistakes, which my opponent mercilessly exploited.

After rolling for Initiative my opponent decided to go first, while I kept Deployment. The Main Objectives were: Extreme Prejudice, Follow Up, Sabotage, HVT: Identity Check. My opponent’s secondary was Rescue, while I had HVT: Kidnapping. He would eploy first, and we didn’t switch sides.

RTF doesn’t use as many Camo tokens as other Haqqislamite forces, but seeing my Yu jing opponent deploy most of his stuff in Camouflage was certainly interesting. Either way, I deployed a few things out on ARO, but mostly on the shorter end of things, with only a single Panzerfaust Ghulam overlooking a longer firelane.

Jason started by forgetting he had Krakot and Shaolin Berserk orders and revealed Major Lunah to take headshots against my Panzerfaust Ghulam. Let’s just say the soldier did not survive taking MULTI Sniper bullets to her cranium. The rest of the first turn was mostly unlucky for my opponent. In terms of kills, he only downed Carmen and her wolf after several Orders, while the F-13 Turret was unable to face even a single volley from the Rui Shi. Fortunately for him though, the HVT was just in the right spot to get two separate objectives for him. Despite my Tuareg having both the Rui Shi and the (previously revealed) Hac Tao in his hacking area, it would have been suicidal to attempt hacking at this stage.

Despite losing the Ghulam and having two of my troops off the table, both Combat Groups had plenty of steam in them. The Haris of two Mukhtars and a Namurr moved inside the building in the middle, taking out a Long Ya on their way (God bless the Red Fury Mukhtar). A BSG Guilang tried to take them out too, but with little effect. On the other side of the table, the Ghulam NCO used his Grenade launcher to take out the other Long Ya and slightly annoy the Guilang. Here comes my best play though. My opponent pulled the Hac Tao back into camouflage and positioned him near the F-13. All it took was for my Mukhtar to put a Spotlight on it for the opponent to Dodge of the way of a possible Guided shot. The Rui Shi was taken out, alongside the Monstrucker and major Lunah by the Fireteam. The Tuareg came out of hiding to haqq, so to say, the Hac Tao. BTS 6 proved not enough when you have a WIP 15 hacker, or haqqer I should say. However, all this put me in a very precarious position. The entire fireteam and the Tuareg were crammed into a single corner. This would prove fatal.

On my opponents second turn, the Warbands berserked and the Shaolin Monk charged into the building. With the help of the far off Guilang, everyone except the Namurr were dead. While the monk, despite tanking several hits from the Tuareg’s Light Shotgun. After all this, the game was basically done. The monk came into CC with the Namurr, and despite her CC of 21, and 2W, she was nonetheless beaten on my turn.

My second turn was not my best if I’m being honest. The Namurr died rather quickly dueling the Monk and the Hakim parachuted his way onto the battlefield, less so to heal people, but more so to score objectives. While he managed to score the Follow Up and Extreme Prejudice, it was still a clear win for Yu Jing.

Massive thanks for the game to Jason and the post-battle feedback
