TL;DR Version

Holy smokes, talk about some dice luck. Dice rolled my way, not so much for my friend :/
Quick and brutal game, the Morlock just taking all shots and carrying the day.
Unfortunately we had to call it end of Turn 2, as life happened and my friend had to leave for some late night work.
These small boards are crazy, everything gets engaged quickly.

Opening Narrative

As suspected, PanO wasn’t going to leave things alone. TimbotB and the Evader barely dropped off the Morlock bodies before an urgent call came in from a Zero in the port battery: PanO forces were pushing in hard and fast. Seems like they wanted another point of egress, but High Command wasn’t going to have any of that. We had to secure our position and push them back, where they can fight the Combined Army and not us.
The Evader slapped in a fresh magazine in his Spifire pulled from a Salyut bot, while Timbot called in a favour from a Pupper Master friend. Two other Morlocks engaged the chemical cocktails in their systems, before laughing and running forward to give our guests a proper greeting.

Game Breakdown

Deployment

I (Nomads) won the roll-off and elected to take the first turn. PanO chose to have me deploy first.
I held back my Evader to place in a backup role, to while the Puppet bots would support the Morlocks in a forward push. I spread my baggage bots out equally to try capture as much of the board as possible. The Zero was left of the center building, with a mine on the opposite side. I hid my Puppet Master and Interventor on the roof of the building to the right, using the defensive turret to protect the stairs.
The Morlocks rolled “15: Regeneration” (Codename: Laughing Man) and “19: Mov 8-4 and Climbing Plus” (Codename: Hammer Time) This gave her a whopping 9″ move due to the scenario rules! This was going to be interesting.

PanO deployed a holomasked Knight Commander and Mulebot on the opposite building, also using the defensive turret to cover that area of the board and the stairs. A Bulleteer was centered in his deployment zone and the other Mulebot on the left side of the board. 2 camo markers and some hidden deployment later, we were ready.

Turn 1

Morlocks rushed forward, with Hammer Time tanking all three shots from the defensive turret and dodging a mine while Laughing Boy managed to dodge bullets and a mine easily. He wasn’t so lucky the second time, while Hammer Time could through smoke and waltz into the back line, smashing the Bulleteer to pieces. I pushed forward with the Interventor and Salyuts, sitting in the zone to control my two quarters. The Puppet Master crawled forward, while the bots shot the defensive turret down.

PanO tried to push forward with a a Mulebot, but was rendered inoperable due to the weight of fire from the TR Salyut and defensive turret. He pushed his Knight Commander forward with the Mulebot to take one quadrant, then he revealed his hidden deployment, who managed to take the other quadrant and try contest mine. I did discover one marker, and he took a risk to recamo it. It paid off, as I missed all my shots. I did manage to get my objective card by succeeding a WIP roll on it before it went invisible again.

Adding the points together, he didn’t have enough to take my quadrant. So we equaled the amount of quadrants controlled.

Turn 2

Hammer Time Morlock went to town, smashing a Fugazi dronbot to pieces before sprinting up the stairs. The Knight and Mulebot passed their rolls and turned around to confront the speedy Morlock. He went straight for the other bot, tanking a shotgun blast before sending her hammer down in a crushing blow. She then proceeded to take a whack at the Knight Commander too, landing a critical hit! I then spent a few orders to try discover the Trinitarians, to no avail.

My friend tried to take a couple of pot shots on some of my units, to no luck. He had to call it there, because of urgent work that he had to do, but being in LoL and not having many bodies either to claim zones.

Closing Narrative

All Lt TimBotB could hear was laughter echoing off the walls, followed by smashing metal. The Morlock dubbed Hammer Time was speeding through the corridors and smashing all the PanO bots to pieces. He could barely switch between the security cameras to keep up with her, as she seemed to leap and dance between each opponent. The only thing he could focus on was to perform a quick data scan on an enemy unit, gathering valuable data on the camo-technologies used. This battle went far better than he expected, but was eager to get back to working on bots instead…
